The origin of the “R” engine goes back to a special development for an open class race in September 2006. At this time the demand for a more powerful version of the Vampire grew rapidly. It then was a logical step to bring this new unit to serial production. This was reached before the end of 2006 and the first units left the factory before Christmas 2006.
