News from our partner BRM:

9 November 2008, South Garda Karting International Circuit Lonato (BS), last round of the Italian 4 Strokes Championship 2008:

ALBERTO CAVALIERI with BRM-Vampire gained the Italian Title of the newly-born category 4 Strokes and offered an important satisfaction to Brm Racing Team which followed and supported him for the whole season. Brm Racing Team was at the track complete (Cavalieri Alberto, Mascialino Gianpietro, Regazzoni Dodo, Bonacina Michele, Angonoa Andrea) under the experienced leading of its Team Manager Erminio Bozzoni and enriched by the presence of the Dutch 4 Strokes Champion Thijs Aan de Stegge, Bart Nuy (Dutch 4 Strokes Vice-Champion), Dimitri Mom (Dutch Junior 4 Strokes Champion) and the talented Swedish driver Dennis Strandberg, for the first time in Italy and involved in the 4 Strokes class. The free practices held on Saturday had a clear feed-back was positive: the Team was working in the right direction and session after session the laps timing of all our drivers decreased in a significant way. Therefore we had the “half-certitude” of doing well during the qualifying practices on Sunday morning, and it was so: Alberto lost the pole position for a minimum gap of 00.089 seconds and all his Team-mates gained excellent placements for the starting grid of the Prefinal. The Prefinal was lead loner by Alberto and his brave competitor Fabian Federer: the two sped on the finishing line fighting constantly one against the other and letting the competitors to their shoulders with a gap of 3.314 seconds. For all the other BRM drivers, the race was characterised by a surprising recovery: Aan de Stegge, Angonoa, Strandberg, Mom, Regazzoni, Nuy and Mascialino gained many positions, making incredible overtaking and causing troubles to the competitors. Even 8 Brm drivers lined up in the first 8 lines of the starting grid in the longed-for Final and when the lights turned green, the audience had no doubt at all: Alberto immediately imposed his rhythm, determined to close the last event of the Championship in the best way possible. The perfect synergy between Br-Vampire and the precise driving style carried Alberto directly to the finishing line and on the 1st step of the podium, crowning with laurels all the efforts and the development job made by our driver and by the Brm Racing Team. To celebrate further the well-deserved victory of the Italian 4 Strokes Championship joined the excellent results of all the 8 Brm drivers: 5° place for Thijs Aan de Stegge (Brm/Vampire/Stegmoto Racing Team), 6° for Dennis Strandberg (Brm/Vampire/Brm Racing Team), 9° for Dodo Regazzoni (Brm/GMengines/Brm Racing Team), 10° for Angonoa Andrea (Brm/Vampire/Brm Racing Team), 11° for Dimitri Mom(Brm/Vampire/Stegmoto Racing Team), 12° for Bart Nuy (Brm/Vampire/Stegmoto Racing Team), and 13° for Mascialino Gianpietro ((Brm/GMengines/BRM Racing Team). Alberto Cavalieri was the author of a faultless performance from all points of view, demonstrating to be grown up a lot, Karting speaking, during the season and to have refined all those skills which mark the professional drivers: although his young age, Alberto arrived at the track not only with a strong determination but also with the maturity of who is aimed to reach the goal respecting the sporting regulations and the honesty towards the other competitors. All the care, the devotion and the passion that always moved Alberto to pass his own limits looking for a margin of improvement, have been repaid by the winning of the Italian 4 Strokes Championship: a significant victory that non only celebrates the working synergy among Cavalieri-Brm-Vampire, but is also a starting point from which we will have to arrange all the research and development job for the next season. A particular recognition goes to Dodo Regazzoni, a driver who surely doesn’t need any words of presentation considering his long experience in motor-sport. Dodo has been the value added to Brm Racing Team for all the 2008 season and will keep on being a main part of it in 2009. his experience with the 4 Strokes class, started with the Vampire engines and finished with GM Engines, was characterised by many technical inconveniences but although this Dodo always arrived at the track ready to enter the “bagarre” with the youngest and with a uncommon psychophysics training. Competitive were also the two drivers Michele Bonacina and Andrea Angonoa: for them as well, 2008 was signed by their debut in the 4 Strokes class and by the comparison with many other famous drivers such as Mack, Federer, Giacomello, Haase and Turchetto. Michele and Andrea gave big emotions to the Team and although they did not gained the podium, they always made good performances and were necessary standard-bearer of BRM. BRM Racing thanks Gianpietro, Paolo, Alby, Dodo, Michele, Andrea, Erminio, Claudio, Walter, Giordan, Ferra and all the people who dedicated their time being an irreplaceable source of energy and resources and made possible to win the Italian 4 Strokes Championship. Essential in this adventure were also the two engine-partners: Suter Racing, manufacturer of the multi-titled Vampire engine and exemplary point of reference for the assistance on-track, and the new partner GM which supported our two drivers Mascialino and Regazzoni during the last race of the Championship and with whom we honestly hope to create a serious, profitable and lasting collaboration for the future.
